The Immunise Australia Program funds the purchase of vaccinations to protect millions of Australians from vaccine-preventable diseases. In addition, the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) (formerly known as the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR), is now a whole of life register capturing adult and childhood immunisations.
Through the AIR, vaccination providers have secure access to a range of due and overdue reports, which allows them to monitor vaccine uptake in both young children and older Australians. Practice Assist, through the WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA), collaborates with the WA Immunisation Networks to develop strategies for continuing to improve awareness and uptake of vaccinations both in the community and in general practice.
