Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM)

ASHM is a peak organisation of health professionals in Australia and New Zealand who work in HIV, viral hepatitis, other BBVs and sexually transmissible infections. ASHM draws on its experience and expertise to support the health workforce and to contribute to the sector, domestically and internationally. ASHM is a professional, not-for-profit, member-based organisation. Australian College of Mental Health Nursing


The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN) is the peak professional mental health nursing organisation and the recognised credentialing body for mental health nurses in Australia. It seeks to represent the profession at all levels of government and across all health service sectors. In addition, the ACMHN sets standards for practice, supports mental health nursing research and provides a forum for collegial support, networking and ongoing professional development for its members. Importantly, the ACMHN also works to promote public confidence in and professional recognition of mental health nursing.

Until 31 December 2018, ACMHN has free APNA-endosed Level 1 CPD eLearning modules available. The Mental Health Essentials eLearning program has been developed by the ACMHN, with funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, to support nurses working in general practice and primary care to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to incorporate mental health into day-to-day practice. Diabetes WA


Diabetes WA provide a range of services that aim to make living with diabetes easier. Education is available for clinical teams and particularly for patients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Diabetes Qualified

Diabetes Qualified provide accessibles and engaging diabetes education and resources for health professionals. It recognises that face to face training does not suit everyone, and offers online eLearning programs to provide you with increased knowledge and understanding of diabetes. The objective is to support delivery of consistent, relevant and actionable support to the person living with diabetes by educating healthare professionals and workers, as well as those living with diabetes.

GPHQ: Connecting WA GPs


GPHQ was created by four General Practitioners (GPs) practising in Western Australia (WA), to allow both established and establishing GPs in WA to connect, communicate and learn from each other in a secure, private, online community. Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)


The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) have published new resources to assist healthcare providers understand their privacy obligations under the My Health Record system.  As the independent regulator for the privacy aspects of the My Health Record system, the OAIC is working with the health sector as it prepares for the system to become opt-out by the end of 2018.

Palliative Care Online Training Portal


The Palliative Care Online Training Portal (the Portal) provides free non-clinical interactive training to carers, community and aged care workers, students, volunteers, family members and clinicians who want to build their skills in caring for someone with a life-limiting illness.

The Portal covers topics such as: the needs of people and their families as they approach end-of-life; assessment skills; end-of-life conversations; self-care and building resilience; pain management; and recognising deteriorating patients.

Registration is free and there are no time restrictions for completion of the modules.
